We’re super pleased that two web projects we supplied photography for have recently won awards for design excellence. An initiative of The Designers Institute of New Zealand, The Best Design Awards is the annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design. Image Workshop was commissioned by digital agency NV Interactive to supply photography for two websites which have both recently received Bronze status at the Awards.

It’s that time of year when frocks are given centre stage to help with some pretty important fundraising efforts. That’s right, I’m talking about the month of Frocktober. The sister to next month’s Mo’vember, Frocktober’s activities primarily consist of women pledging to wear a frock every day in October to raise money for ovarian cancer research. One the of things we love about living in Melbourne is that there’s ALWAYS something cool happening. Like a few weeks ago, when colourful elephant statues started popping up all over the city. This year is the 150th anniversary of Melbourne Zoo, and as part of the celebrations the zoo folk created a fun public art project, named “Mali in the City” after Mali, the first elephant calf ever born at Melbourne Zoo.

Since the devastating earthquake in Christchurch in February 2011, the good guys at digital agency NV Interactive have been working with the New Zealand Ministry of Culture and Heritage to help people share their personal earthquake experiences online with a website project called Quake Stories. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with circo-artists Mim and Neisha to create some cool promo images. Mim was recently in Las Vegas attending and performing at an international contortionists convention, where a new magazine, Contortionists Unite! was also launched. We’re stoked that the first issue contains a fab double page spread with a profile on Mim and Neisha, featuring images created by Image Workshop. Awesome!
