Hey ho! Sharon here, with an update on a magazine cover story I photographed of an inspirational lady. Inova is a US-based health and hospital service provider. Although based on the east coast of the USA, the Spring 2019 cover story of Inova’s INhealth medical & healthy lifestyle magazine was slated to feature Australian patient Dina McPherson. Dina was back in Melbourne following a successful surgical heart procedure in the US, and enguaged me…
The Nature Conservancy is a US-based organisation dedicated to ecological conservation, with over 600 scientists working on projects in 69 countries. Rick Hamilton, a marine scientist based in Brisbane, Australia, works extensively in marine environments and recently (re)discovered the rare crusty Nautilus – an elusive sea creature last seen alive in the 1980s. The June/July issue of Nature Conservancy magazine would feature an essay on Rick’s diving mission to find the secretive Nautilus. We went on assigment to meet Rick in Brisbane to create an…
Meet Sam, Helper of People. He’s a Pharmacy Business Manager for AmCal as well as being a working paramedic – oh and he also did volunteer help during the Victorian bushfires last summer. Sharon was commisioned to shoot an editorial portrait of Sam for the October cover of PostScript magazine – here’s the final cover shot, plus an image that didn’t make the mag but was one of our faves :D
Business Class magazine is a brand new industry magazine telling success stories from business owners around the country. For its first-ever issue, editor Isaac Bober really wanted to make a splash and stand out from the crowd. He approached Image Workshop photographer Sharon Blance to shoot the cover story for the magazine’s launch – featuring Chris Gurney from Bakers Delight, who was instrumental in growing the brand for over a decade. The magazine wanted high…
Recently we shot some editorial photography for Silverkris, the Singapore Airlines in-flight magazine. The images were for an article about “Secret Melbourne” – focusing on places that aren’t the usual tourist traps, but instead are difficult to stumble across without being told where to find them. One of our favourites from the assignment was Bar Americano. Despite living in Melbourne, this neat little bar had never registered on my radar – so it was a pleasure to come…
We’re very excited to have photography in print for the feature article ‘Secret Melbourne’ in this month’s Silverkris magazine. Silverkris is Singapore Airlines’ travel magazine – a beautifully produced, and award wining editorial magazine covering aspects of business, travel and leisure. As an editorial photographer in Melbourne, this was a fantastic article to shoot for. The story ‘Secret Melbourne’ focused on digging into some of the hidden treasures of Melbourne city. This presented us with…
Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Bayleigh – a 17-year-old girl who has her sights set on becoming a commercial pilot. She’s still in school, but that hasn’t stopped her making the time to get a kick start on her training with ATTTO through their gateway programme.
Recently, we had the pleasure of working with circo-artists Mim and Neisha to create some cool promo images. Mim was recently in Las Vegas attending and performing at an international contortionists convention, where a new magazine, Contortionists Unite! was also launched. We’re stoked that the first issue contains a fab double page spread with a profile on Mim and Neisha, featuring images created by Image Workshop. Awesome!
